Customers share handcrafted pieces made from items purchased here

Sometimes our customers send us pictures of their creations after they have renewed a piece they bought from our store. Here are some photos of those upgrades that we have received so far!
A Herington woman bought the yellow dress on the left for a costume for her granddaughter to dress up like Belle Starr, the outlaw that ran with Jesse James. Here is the outcome of the full costume view!
Here is a well worn black and green dresser that a Fort Riley woman bought from our store.
She turned that into this dresser for her daughter.
Here is another rough dresser that a Council Grove woman bought.
It needed some TLC and got turned into this creation!
Sometimes, our customers will find a unique use for something they buy here, such as this wooden drawer separator box used to display nail polish colors.
Do you have before and after pictures of something you have purchased from our store? If so, email them to Stephanie Gilbert, store manager, at PrairieChicKansas@gmail.com.

More booth spaces now being filled at Prairie Chic store

Here are some views of the booth spaces that we now have filled at Prairie Chic Handcrafts & Antiques store.

Don't forget that a Midwest artist whose sister lives outside of Hope, Kan., is coming to Prairie Chic on Oct. 18 for an art show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Tienne Rei Kollars currently lives with her family in Southern Illinois. She was married to her husband Mike on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 2001 and hopes to eventually make a permanent move to the coast. Her sister, Tana Davis, recently moved to rural Hope and introduced Tienne's artwork to Prairie Chic. Look for more details ahead on this blog! Here are links to Tienne Rei Kollar's website and her Facebook page.

We are Prairie Chic Handcrafts and Antiques at 9 S. Broadway Herington, KS. Come on in and consign your furniture here, or check out our other vendor booths with vintage and handmade items while you are here, or consider us if you need climate-controlled indoor storage units on a monthly basis, also. See some of our progress inside the Prairie Chic store!

Lots of hard work took place inside 9 S. Broadway St., Herington, KS last weekend. There's still more work to be done inside the business. Even so, here are some pictures of the progress that has been made inside the store.

Here is what the store looked like before the cleanup. First, this is the central part of the store, before any painting or removal of leftover items from the sales floor.

Here is the southeast corner of the store, before any cleanup.

Here are two views of the southwest corner of the sales floor, still with signs and items from the previous business.

Lastly, there is the view of the northwest corner of the store, before any cleanup or painting.

Here are some after pictures, of the inside of the store.

First, here is the view of the southeast corner of the store, now painted, cleared and empty. More work will be done to relocate some more wall pieces from the north wall here to the south wall.

This is a view of the southwest corner of the store front. It has also been painted, cleared and is now mostly empty. The wall sections are available for rent to area vendors, according to the size of rented space.

This is the view of the northwest corner of the sales floor. This is where antique items, quality used furniture, art displays and other items will be displayed. In the far corner of the store, climate controlled storage spaces are available to rent. They have not yet been constructed, though.

There are going to be seven 32' long vendor sections for rent. They are available in 4', 6' or 8' sections. They have also not yet been constructed. The climate controlled storage units will be separated from antique sales floor items. The storage unit renters will have access via a rear entry point outside of regular business hours.
