The staff at Prairie Chic Handcrafts & Antiques store has just announced Market Day on Nov. 2.
It's open to flea market vendors who would like to sell their items inside the store. We also may have a food vendor on site, but more details to be announced on that soon. For the event, we are offering our special event rental rates of $2/sq. ft. with reservations prior to the show or $3/sq. ft. on the day of the show. You set up your own items on your own table, and pay according to the size. Sorry, but if you have a circular table, it is measured on the square. This is on a "cash and carry" basis, so you tend your own sales and no credit cards nor collections will be taken by our staff. To sign up, please contact our store at (785) 258-8004 or the store manager, Stephanie Gilbert, at PrairieChicKansas@gmail.com or (785) 571-3955!
We also have art classes planned to start Sunday, Nov. 9 (also on Nov. 16 and 23) at Prairie Chic. Come learn how to paint glass with one stroke technique from rural Hope resident and amazing artist, Tana Davis. We are offering a $40 class fee + $15 supply fee. We will also offer classes on Sunday, Dec. 7, 14, and 21. Supplies may be used for both classes! Call 785-258-8004 and leave a message to register now for the November class!
We will also be the dropoff location for the Tri-County Area Chamber Holiday Hoedown Festival wreath auction, set for Saturday, Dec. 6! For those who are interested in selling a wreath for their organization or their business to earn a bit of holiday spending cash or easy fundraiser, we are selling them on consignment. You name your price and we market the wreaths to sell them for the holidays.
Are you interested in putting one up for the chamber fundraiser, or in selling one for your organization? If so, please contact our store at (785) 258-8004 or the store manager, Stephanie Gilbert, at PrairieChicKansas@gmail.com or (785) 571-3955!
We have also rescheduled our inaugural Recycled Robots Art Competition for area residents! The event is planned to start at 10 a.m. Nov. 15 here at the store (9 S. Broadway St., Herington, KS 67449). Our competitors are welcome to bring anything they would like to bring to help hold it together. The goal of the event is to stimulate latent artistic juices of area residents. The competition is based on looks, but extra points will be given if the piece actually works as a robot. This is open to age 14+ and children (with parental supervision). The winner will receive $100 and the piece will be displayed in the store for 30 days.
For more information about the contest, please contact our store at (785) 258-8004 or the store manager, Stephanie Gilbert, at PrairieChicKansas@gmail.com or (785) 571-3955!
