Customers share handcrafted pieces made from items purchased here

Sometimes our customers send us pictures of their creations after they have renewed a piece they bought from our store. Here are some photos of those upgrades that we have received so far!

A Herington woman bought the yellow dress on the left for a costume for her granddaughter to dress up like Belle Starr, the outlaw that ran with Jesse James. Here is the outcome of the full costume view! 

Here is a well worn black and green dresser that a Fort Riley woman bought from our store.

She turned that into this dresser for her daughter.

Here is another rough dresser that a Council Grove woman bought.

It needed some TLC and got turned into this creation!

Sometimes, our customers will find a unique use for something they buy here, such as this wooden drawer separator box used to display nail polish colors.

Extra vendors setting up tables at store, 25 sales set around town for Area Wide Garage Sales on Saturday

We now have maps at Prairie Chic so you can plan your sales route in advance of the Area Wide Garage Sale on Saturday. You can pick one up today during our regular store hours until 6 p.m.
We will be open at 7 a.m. Saturday, so area customers  can come stop here to shop for your antiques, furniture, household items, art, pictures, photographs, collectibles, and so much more!! Plus, we have several extra vendors setting up tables to sell items inside the store and on the sidewalk! 

If you missed the deadline to be on the map and you would like to sell your items on a cash and carry basis on your own table, the  for $25 for 10 sq. ft. or less, or $2/sq. ft. for larger tables. We are on the map and the event has been advertised in area newspapers, on Facebook buy/sell/trade groups and also on Craigslist, so will have plenty of traffic from all around the region for this event!

Find your perfect Mother's Day gift at Prairie Chic!

Are you looking for a unique, one-of-a-kind item to give mom for Mother's Day tomorrow? Come in to Prairie Chic, which is open until 6 p.m. today, to find a memorable item JUST for her!! Or, would you like to bring HER in to shop and pick out her own item? We will also be open from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday so you can let HER pick out her own memorable item!!

Here are some items that you might consider for her!

 We have comfortable chairs available for Mom!!

Does she need a magazine rack? We have several for her! 

Does your mom enjoy glassware? We have lots of glass items that she will love!

Maybe your mom collects dolls and would enjoy an antique or vintage crib or child's seat for her items!

 Does mom need a new footstool to prop up her feet? 

We have many, of different sizes and shapes, just for her!

 Does mom need another table for her work room? 

We have many side tables or work tables for her!

 Even if you are not crafty, your mom might like a
handmade wreath! Or, maybe a newer mom could use some cloth diapers or swimmer outfits for her young children?! We have both!

Have you heard ... that we've changed our rates for wall and booth space at Prairie Chic? They are NOW as low as $25 (total, per quarter) for a 4' x 4' space on the wall. We market your items on our blog, on Facebook, on Craigslist and on flyers around our local area. We are 35 minutes from Junction City, about 45 minutes from Fort Riley, and about 60-90 minutes from Topeka, Manhattan, Wichita and Salina, and we draw customers in from all of those cities via online marketing efforts.

Recruiting efforts underway to prepare for upcoming events

We're drawing nearer to the 300 likes mark now on our Prairie Chic Facebook page. We would like to take a minute to thank everyone who has recently added a "like" on our page!

Store Manager Stephanie Gilbert is working to recruit vendors to sell their antique or handcrafted items inside our store. We want your upcycled items, your handmade or homemade or handcrafted items, no matter if they are metal art, yarn or fabric pieces, painted items, etc. Our store vendor options, rates and sizes are located on the 'More about the Store' tab above.

We are working to fill our store event more in preparation for the April 24-25 Cruise In and Car Show events planned in downtown Herington. 

April 25 is also the Prairie Chic first anniversary, so stay tuned for information on our store celebration also set for that weekend!! We drew in hundreds of shoppers last year during our opening weekend, when we started with only seven items on our sales floor. We have 10' x 10' for $105 a month or 5' x 7' for $65 a month, plus a $20 one-time administration fee to start your lease. We're open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday though Saturday and by appointment Sunday through Tuesday.
